Lisa and her friends watch the Nobel Prize announcement live on television at night . Surprisingly, Krusty the clown wins the Nobel Peace Prize . Homer with Beard accompanies him to the award ceremony in Europe, as he is supposed to laugh at his jokes at the award ceremony. Lisa is upset that she is not allowed to fly to Oslo for the award ceremony. To compensate, she spends a week in an artist camp. Meanwhile, it turns out that Krusty did not win the Nobel Prize, but that it was just an excuse to try him before the International Court of Justice in The Hague , where he is charged with several offenses. In order to avoid punishment, he has to prove that he has made a cultural contribution to the western world. The week in the artist camp goes by far too quickly for Lisa. When she gets home, she wants to go back there all the time. She secretly disappears to "Sprooklyn" (based on the New York neighborhood of Brooklyn ) to visit the camp leaders . There she sees how they live in a rundown apartment and the artist camp only gave the illusion that artists have a full life. Meanwhile, Homer and Bart prove that Krusty made a cultural contribution to South Africa in 1990. Lisa is found by Marge and is happy when she leaves "Sprooklyn" and returns to Springfield.

The title is a reference to the film title High School Musical .

Lisa discovers a secret classroom in the basement of Springfield Elementary School , but when she tries to show it to the school, there is only a bookcase behind the door. Since Headmaster Skinner and School Inspector Chalmers take away the key, she has it copied from a photo in the school newspaper. She discovers that the classroom is behind the bookshelf and sees that someone there is writing “The children are on bus 23” on the blackboard. Bart and Lisa ask Nelson what he knows about Bus 23, and he explains that this bus with twenty-four children disappeared on its way over an ice bridge. Homer, Bart and Lisa fly to this bridge in the Duff Zeppelin and discover that all the children in the bus that has fallen into the river are puppets. The bus driver Otto, who is also at the river, says he wrote the sentence on the blackboard in the secret room and is relieved that he did not kill twenty-four children. Then Otto, Homer, Bart and Lisa ask Skinner and Chalmers for a reason for the classroom in the basement and the fake fatal accident. They explain that Skinner's mother accidentally destroyed the education funding. To cover up this, they built a classroom with bogus teaching aids and photographed childrens' dolls learning with them. Because the borrowed dolls were overdue, they had them sunk in the river on school bus 23 in order to avoid the overdraft fee. In the epilogue, the school bus gets into trouble on an icy bridge, but Otto is not worried because he assumes that he only has dolls on board again. But Milhouse tells him it's different this time.

The broadcaster Fox has set up a page especially for this purpose, until the start of the next season in September viewers have time to decide how to go on with the two.
