The ice hockey regional league of the 2006/2007 season was again played in the form of the Regionalliga Nordost , the Regionalliga West (formerly NRW), the Regionalliga Hessen , the Baden-Württemberg-Liga and the Bayernliga .
Due to the restructuring of the third division league in the following season, there were some changes for promotion this season. The RL-Nordost was allowed to provide up to five climbers. The joint promotion round of the Regional Leagues West, Hessen and BaWü were allocated two promotion places. Both playoff finalists from the Bayernliga were allowed to move up to the league.
Regionalliga North-East
mode
Compared to the previous season, there were only nine teams in the league. With the team from Braunlage, only one team from the former Regionalliga Nord was represented. After a double round, the first fifth-placed teams were eligible for promotion.
Attendees
The Niesky / Weißwasser syndicate had newly qualified for this league. There was no relegation from the league. Last year's champions Rostock had renounced the promotion. There is no athletic relegation to the state / association league.

Only Braunlager SC Harz did not exercise its right of promotion. After the season the syndicate Niesky / Weißwasser was dissolved again and only the ELV Tornado Niesky competed.
Regionalliga West
mode
After a single round, the teams in places 1-6 took part in the joint promotion round with the participants of the RL Hessen and Baden-Württemberg League for the 2007/08 Oberliga . The remaining teams take part in the relegation round together with the two promoted teams from the regional league.
Attendees
The second agency from Iserlohn and the newly founded EC Bergisch Land were added as newcomers. The previous year's champions from Neuss had renounced promotion and no relegated team came down from the league. The Black Devis Niederrhein ended their cooperation with the Spielbetriebsgesellschaft and started again under the name of the parent club GSC Moers.

After the promotion round, there were disagreements at the Grefrath Nierspanther and the parent club, Grefrather EC 2001, ended the cooperation and started the coming season in the association league. The Düsseldorfer EG 1b and Lippe Hockey Hamm made it out of the association league. With the withdrawal of ESV Bergisch Gladbach, the GSC Moers and Königsborner JEC were allowed to remain in the league despite being relegated.
Regionalliga Hessen
mode
After the preliminary round (single round), the two best-placed teams were allowed to take part in the joint promotion round - with the Regionalliga West and Baden-Württemberg - to the Oberliga. For the remaining teams it went into the relegation round with the representatives of the national league.
Attendees
After there were again financial difficulties in Bad Nauheim, the first team in the regional league started again. The VFE Neuwied team was newly founded in the league.

In the relegation round, all teams except Eintracht Frankfurt managed to stay up. The Darmstadt Crocodiles rose. The VFE Neuwied resigned in its original form as a development association and joined the sixth class EHC Neuwied.
Baden-Württemberg League
mode
The mode changed a lot this season. First a championship round was played in which the master was determined after a double round. Then all teams with an interest in the league promotion could take part in a qualifying round. The best two teams then qualified for the promotion round with the teams of RL West and RL Hessen. As a result, ESV Hügelsheim and Mannheimer ERC 1b only participated in the promotion round.
Attendees
In the summer of 2006, the relegated from the league Stuttgart EC signed a cooperation agreement with the second division club SC Bietigheim-Bissingen. The previous team of the Stuttgart EC played from 2006/07 as the 1b team of SC Bietigheim under the name of Stuttgart Rebels in Stuttgart in the Baden-Württemberg League.

In addition to the champions, the following registered for the qualifying round: ESV Hügelsheim, Mannheimer ERC 1b, Schwenninger Fire Wings and Eisbären Heilbronn. The ESV Zollernalb and the Bad Liebenzell Blackhawks rose from the state league. ESV Balingen withdrew its team.

Playoffs
The playoffs are played in a home and away game. In the event of a tie, the better goal difference decides. The champion and the runner-up were eligible for promotion. Since two teams from RL West had qualified, the runner-up was only allowed to move up if the final winners and losers did not come from the same regional league.

Since the Herner EG Blizzard could not complete a previously started insolvency procedure in time, they were denied promotion to the league. As a result of the bankruptcy, they joined the newly founded Herner EV in 2007 and started again in the regional league in the coming season. There was no replacement. The Red Devils Bad Nauheim rose to the top division.
Bayern League
The Bavarian League was organized by the Bavarian Ice Sports Association.
mode
As in the previous season, the 16 teams played the participants in the playoffs and playdowns. After a single round, the best eight reached the playoffs for the championship and the associated promotion, while the remaining eight played off the relegated to the Bavarian State League . The points were distributed according to the two-point rule.
Attendees
ERV Schweinfurt, Ulm Riverhawks and EHF Passau Black Hawks rose from the state league to the league. Since there was no promoted to the league in the preseason, no team came down.

The two finalists of the Bayern League rose to the top division. The top scorer in the Bayernliga was Thomas Greilinger , who scored 51 goals and 47 assists in a total of 37 games.
