Ekstraliga (chess) 2009
The Ekstraliga (chess) 2009 was the eighth edition of the Ekstraliga and the 65th Polish team championship in chess . The Polish team champion was the team of KSz Polonia Warszawa, which relegated the defending champion WASKO HetMaN Szopienice to second place. With the retreats of JKSz MCKiS Jaworzno and KSz Juvena Hańcza Suwałki last year, four teams with LKS Pasjonat Dankowice, KS Pocztowiec Poznań, ASSz Miedź Legnica and KSz Odrodzenie Kożuchów were promoted from the I league. While Dankowice and Poznań reached relegation, Legnica and Kożuchów had to relegate directly, and PTSz Rynex Płock withdrew his team.

mode
The ten teams played a simple round-robin tournament on six boards, with a woman standing on the sixth board. The last two placed were relegated to the I league and were replaced by the first two placed in the I league. The number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point) decided the placement for defeat).
Date and venue
The tournament was held from September 12th to 20th in the hall of the University Sports Center of Maria Curie Skłodowska University ( Hala AOS UMCS ) in Lublin .
