Ekstraliga (chess) 2015

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ekstraliga (chess) 2015 was the 14th edition of the Ekstraliga and the 71st Polish team championship in chess . The champions were the WASKO HETMAN Katowice team, which relegated defending champion Votum Polonia Wrocław to second place. Bezokularow.pl Chrobry Gniezno and KSz SILESIA JAS-FBG Racibórz were promoted from the I league last year. Both promoted players had to relegate immediately, and UKS Rotmistrz Grudziądz pulled the team back after the season. Sz.SON "Zagłębie" Dąbrowa Górnicza took over the playing rights from KSz Warsaw Sharks Warszawa.

For the team squad, see Ekstraliga (chess) 2015 team squad .

mode

The ten teams played a simple round-robin tournament on six boards, with a woman standing on the sixth board. The last two placed were relegated to the I league and will be replaced by the first two placed in the I league. The number of team points (two points for a win, one point for a draw, no point for a defeat), then the number of board points (one point for a win, half a point for a draw, no point) decided the placement for defeat).

Dates and venues

The first three rounds were played from May 8th to 10th in the recreation and sports complex JASNA ( Kompleks Rekreacyjno-Sportowy JASNA ) in Gliwice , rounds 4 to 6 were played in the Kazimierz-Lepszy Hall ( Aula Kazimierza Lepszego ) of the Silesian University ( Uniwersytet Śląski ) in Katowice , and the last three rounds took place from October 2nd to 4th at the Novotel Hotel in Wrocław .

Season course

In the first rounds, WASKO HETMAN Katowice, Votum Polonia Wrocław and KSz Stilon Gorzów Wielkopolski were at the top of the table. Katowice defeated both competitors in the seventh and eighth rounds and was thus certain as champions before the last round. KSz SILESIA JAS-FBG Racibórz was determined prematurely as relegated, while the decision on the second relegated in the last round was made in a direct comparison between TS Wisła Kraków and bezokularow.pl Chrobry Gniezno.
