Ekstraliga (chess) 2016

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ekstraliga (chess) 2016 was the 15th edition of the Ekstraliga and the 72nd Polish team championship in chess . The champion was the defending champion WASKO HETMAN Katowice, three teams were promoted from the I league last year through the withdrawal of UKS Rotmistrz Grudziąd with LKS "Wrzos" Międzyborów, OKSiR BAUMATECH Wisznia Mała and KSz MIEDŹ Legnica. Legnica was the only newcomer to stay in the league, while LKS "Wrzos" Międzyborów and OKSiR BAUMATECH Wisznia Mała had to relegate directly, and Baszta MOS Żnin withdrew his team.

The ten teams played a simple round-robin tournament on six boards, with a woman standing on the sixth board.
