The Bundesliga 2022/23 will be the 60th season of the top German division in men's football .
Due to the soccer World Cup 2022 in Qatar , which is due to take place between November 21 and December 18, 2022 due to the climatic conditions in the desert state, the Bundesliga will be interrupted for several weeks during the season. Accordingly, the Bundesliga season should start earlier and end later.
Currently (as of January 2020) the start of the season is planned for July 29, 2022. That would be around three weeks earlier than usual. Since the national players who take part in the World Cup must be available to their national teams from November 14, 2022, the last Bundesliga matchday before the World Cup break is planned for November 11 to 13. However, the exact termination is still unclear.
