Gehad Grisha , also Ghead Zaglol Grisha ( Arabic جهاد جريشة, DMG Ǧihād Ǧrīša ; * February 29, 1976 in Cairo ), is an Egyptian football referee .

Career

Grisha has been a FIFA referee since 2008 . It was used at the Africa Cup in 2015 and 2017 . At the beginning of 2018 he was selected by FIFA as one of a total of 36 referees for the 2018 World Cup .

After controversial decisions in the final first leg of the CAF Champions League 2018/19 between defending champions Espérance Tunis and Wydad Casablanca , including a disallowed goal and a non-awarded penalty for Casablanca, Grisha was dismissed by the African Football Association CAF in May 2019 for a "poor performance" locked for six months. The ban was lifted shortly before the start of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations , so Grisha was subsequently added to the referee list.
