Railway stations in North Rhine-Westphalia |
The Velbert-Rosenhügel stop is the southernmost of the four S-Bahn stations in the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Velbert in the Mettmann district . It is located in the Neviges district on the Rosenhügel , and also provides a connection to the S-Bahn for the Katernberg and Dönberg districts in Wuppertal .
history
In 2003, the S9 line between Essen-Steele and Wuppertal on the Wuppertal-Vohwinkel-Essen-Überruhr line went into operation. The Velbert-Rosenhügel stop was opened on this route in 2003 in order to develop the Siepen residential area in the south of Neviges. It is the only one of the four stations in Velbert that has been rebuilt.
Location and structure
The breakpoint is located on the eastern edge of the rose hill. It has two side platforms with two individual Park & Ride parking spaces at the edges . Since the railway line forms the Velbert city limits at this point, the southeastern Park & Ride parking lot is already in the Wuppertal city area. The platforms are accessed via stairs and ramps. This makes the station barrier-free .
service
In the local rail passenger traffic , the stop is served by the S9 line of the Rhein-Ruhr S-Bahn and three bus routes.
