Jorat-Menthue has been a municipality in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland since July 1, 2011 .
geography
The municipality of Jorat-Menthue is located in the south-east of the Gros-de-Vaud on the molasse hills of the Jorat around 5 km south-south-east of the canton capital of Lausanne. The municipality consists of the villages of Chardonney, Montaubion, Montmeillan, Peney-le-Jorat, Sottens, Villars-Mendraz and Villars-Tiercelin as well as various individual farms. The neighboring communities of Jorat-Menthue are Montanaire in the north, Moudon in the north-east, Hermenches in the east, Corcelles-le-Jorat in the south-east, Froideville in the south-west, Poliez-Pittet in the west and Montilliez in the north-west .
history
The now former municipalities of Montaubion-Chardonney , Peney-le-Jorat , Sottens , Villars-Mendraz and Villars-Tiercelin merged on July 1, 2011 to form the new municipality of Jorat-Menthue .
Attractions
The most important landmark in the area of the municipality of Jorat-Menthue is the transmission tower of the West Swiss regional broadcaster Radio Sottens .
