Joucas is a French municipality with 338 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Vaucluse and the region Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur . The residents call themselves the Joucassiens or Joucassiennes .

The municipality is located in the Luberon Regional Nature Park . After Avignon , westernmost capital of the department Vaucluse is 35 km (distance), Apt , headquarters of the sub-prefecture is located about 20 kilometers southeast of the community.
The neighboring municipalities are Murs in the north, Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt in the northeast, Roussillon in the southeast and Gordes in the southwest.
Like the neighboring communities, the municipality belongs to the Côtes du Ventoux wine-growing region , whose designation of origin is protected by the Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC). It is also in the Luberon Regional Nature Park .
