La Bastidonne is a French municipality with 817 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Vaucluse department in the region of Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur . It belongs to the canton of Pertuis in the Apt arrondissement .
geography
La Bastidonne is located in the southeast of the Vaucluse department and is surrounded by the municipalities of Pertuis and La Tour-d'Aigues . The next larger town is Pertuis in the west ( 5 km ).
In the north of the municipality, the mountains of the covers Luberon with the Luberon Regional Nature Park , to which the municipality belongs. To the south of La Bastidonne lies the Durance valley . Part of the municipality in the southeast is occupied by the Luberon-Lure Biosphere Reserve .
traffic
The départementale route D973 runs on the west-east axis coming from Pertuis in the direction of Mirabeau .
The closest train station is Pertuis , which provides connections to the cities of Lyon , Marseille and Aix-en-Provence .

Attractions
The road connecting Mirabeau and La Bastidone runs over a plateau dotted with pines and oaks . Several tiled roof houses are grouped around the small Romanesque church from the 13th century . 500 meters east of the town center are the ruins of the St-Julien Chapel, restored at the end of the 1990s, including the Hermitage . The hermitage was built in the 17th century and later abandoned.
In a small orchard in the village with almond trees , 17 rare traditional Luberon varieties are harvested. The almond has a long tradition and has existed in the region for over 1000 years.
