KHL All-Star Game 2013

The fifth edition of the All-Star Game of the Continental Hockey League ( Russian Матч Всех Звёзд Континентальной Хоккейной Лиги ) took place on January 13, 2013 in the tractor ice rink in Chelyabinsk . Team Morosow prevailed against Team Kovalchuk with 18:11.

At the All-Star Game 2013, as in the previous year, a selection of players from the Western Conference met a selection of players from the Eastern Conference. The team captains were the Russians Ilya Kovalchuk from SKA Saint Petersburg (for the selection of the western conference ) and Alexei Morozov of Ak Bars Kazan (for the selection of the eastern conference ).

Before the actual All-Star Game, the KHL All-Star Skills Competition took place, in which the players competed against each other in various categories and put their skills to the test.

Selection of participants

Each of the two teams consisted of two goalkeepers, six defenders and ten strikers. The six players, who each formed the starting line-up of their teams, were selected by the fans themselves via the KHL website. The remaining players per team were selected by media representatives and the KHL league management. Due to the end of the lockout in the National Hockey League , numerous selected players had to return to North America prematurely and thus could not participate in the KHL All-Star Game. (These players are marked with a *.) Their places were filled by further candidates according to the election results.
