history

According to tradition, the Tüddern grain mill dates from 1654 and was assigned to the lost Blumenthal house. It was a pure grain mill until 1830 , when it received an oil press in addition to its two grinding courses . The undershot water wheel, however, only allowed use in the exchange . At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, both Tüddern mills were owned by the Brandts family. In 1944 the grinding operation was stopped because of the approaching war. After the turmoil of the war , the mill was converted into a residential building. On the gable wall you can still read “Zur Alten Mühle” in iron letters .
