The Karker Mühle probably did not have a meal obligation. However, there were always disputes about the use of foreign mills with the landlords . In 1591, Karken was invaded by Spanish troops . The residents had gathered in the church in the hope that the attackers would spare them. However, there was a mass execution in the church and on the Mordkamp, ​​a field mark in Karken. Out of gratitude, survivors of this cruel event donated a cross in 1634 and set it up. In the merging of land , a new location on the Karker mill was found. Today the cross is popularly called et Mühlekrüz and is a reminder of the terrible events of earlier times.
