The 2005/06 LHJMQ season was the 37th season of the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec . The regular season of 70 games for each of the 18 teams began on 15 September 2005 and ended on 19 March 2006. The playoff began on 23 March 2006 and ended with the first Coupe du Président a gain in the Moncton Wildcats at 14 May 2006, who prevailed in the LHJMQ final against the Québec Remparts .
Before the season, the league was expanded to include two franchises - the Saint John Sea Dogs and St. John's Fog Devils , which was accompanied by a restructuring. The teams were now divided into two divisions, Ouest with teams from the province of Québec and Est with teams from the Atlantic provinces , instead of three .
While the awards for the offensive and defensive player of the year were given for the last time, a new trophy was added with the Trophée Maurice Filion for the General Manager of the Year.
