Langdorf is a former local community in the municipal community of Frauenfeld. Langdorf is on the road to Constance and is now part of the city of Frauenfeld in the Swiss canton of Thurgau . On January 1, 1919 , the local parish of Langdorf merged to form the unified community of Frauenfeld.

Langdorf was first mentioned in 854 as Erichinga and in 1291 as Langen Erchingen .

history

Celtic and early medieval burial grounds and a Roman manor were found in the village . Langdorf was a royal court . King Arnulf confirmed Erchingen in 889 as the property of the Reichenau monastery . From the 13th century, the Reichau office, which belonged to the Bishop of Constance from 1536 to 1798 , included Horgenbach , Langdorf, Oberkirch and Bannhalden . Its bailiff exercised the lower court. Langdorf released fiefdoms in 1498 and Fall und Lass in 1795 . The district court exercised the high level of jurisdiction in the Laube in Kurzdorf until 1417 , the city ​​of Konstanz from 1417 to 1499 and the federal governor from 1499 to 1798 .

Erchingen and Frauenfeld formed the parish of St. Laurentius in Oberkirch, which belongs to Reichenau. After the Reformation in 1529, the church was used equally from 1534 .

In addition to pasture and grass farming, viticulture and agriculture, horticulture was practiced from around 1900. In Langdorf there was a brickworks from 1867 , an emery paper factory from 1894 , a canning factory as well as a cider factory and a glassworks from 1897.
