Oberneunforn , Swiss German Obernüfere , is a village in the municipality of Neunforn in the Frauenfeld district of the canton of Thurgau in Switzerland . Oberneunforn is located on the Frauenfeld - Schaffhausen road and was from 1803 to 1995 a local parish of the municipal community of Neunforn. In addition to the village, the hamlets Fahrhof , Münchhof and Langmühle belonged to the local community . On January 1, 1996 , the local community merged to form the political municipality of Neunforn.
history
In Oberneunforn there are burial mounds resembling a hall . It was u. a. found a Roman votive cap. In 963 there was a court. In 1250 the barons of Teufen sold their property to the Töss Monastery , which in 1265 also secured the patronage of the Church of Neunforn, which was always in Oberneunforn. The court lords were Hans von Griesheim in 1442, von Leuenberg around 1500, Stokar von Schaffhausen from 1554 , Hans Kaspar Escher in 1680 and the city of Zurich from 1694 to 1798 . An opening was recorded in 1523. In 1870 the local community Fahrhof was incorporated into the local community Oberneunforn.
The inhabitants practiced arable and viticulture, livestock and dairy farming. After 1820 there was a private psychiatric clinic. In 1887 an agricultural cooperative was founded. At the beginning of the 21st century there was some industry.

Of the total of 558 inhabitants in Oberneunforn in 2018, 44 or 7.9% were foreign nationals. 334 (59.9%) were Protestant Reformed and 79 (14.2%) were Roman Catholic.
