Lansingerland is a municipality in the Dutch province of South Holland , north of Rotterdam , with 61,636 inhabitants (as of January 31, 2019) and an area of ​​56.37 km 2 (2.19 km 2 of which is water). The municipality includes the places Bergschenhoek , Berkel en Rodenrijs , Bleiswijk , Kruisweg and De Rotte .

The municipality was created on January 1, 2007 from the merger of the old municipalities Bergschenhoek, Berkel en Rodenrijs and Bleiswijk. The name refers to Lansingh , the old border between the Delfland and the Schieland .

Pieter van de Stadt ( VVD ) has been the acting mayor of the municipality since September 14, 2015 . His staff include the alderman Simon Fortuyn ( Leefbaar 3B ), Ankie van Tatenhove ( ChristenUnie ), Jeroen Heuvelink ( D66 ), Albert Abee ( CDA ) and the community secretary Ron Jeltema .
