Liédson da Silva Muniz (born December 17, 1977 in Cairu , Bahia ), known as Liédson , is a former Portuguese soccer player of Brazilian origin who ended his career with the Brazilian first division club Flamengo Rio de Janeiro .

Club career

Liédson grew up in Cairu in the Brazilian state of Bahia. Before joining Sporting, Liédson was only active in Brazil .

From 2003 to 2011 the striker played for Sporting Lisbon in the Portuguese SuperLiga . He was called "Levezinho" by sporting fans. In the 2004/05 and 2006/07 seasons he was the top scorer in the Portuguese SuperLiga; he scored a total of over 100 goals for his club. On March 7, 2010, he scored all four goals in the 4-0 away win against local rivals Belenenses Lisbon .

In mid-2011 he returned to Brazil for SC Corinthians Paulista . In early August Liédson signed a contract with the Brazilian Flamengo Rio de Janeiro until the end of 2013. In January 2013, Portuguese champions FC Porto loaned the striker for the rest of the season. At Porto he got the back number 19.

National team

In his first international match for the Portuguese national football team , he headed the 1-1 draw against Denmark in qualifying for the 2010 World Cup on September 5, 2009 .
