The 2010/11 season is the second season of the Liga de Ascenso , the second soccer league in Mexico , which was newly created last year . Compared to the previous year, it will be increased by one team and thus has 18 participants. Due to the increase, Guerreros FC escaped relegation, but still only played in the preliminary round (Apertura 2010). New are the CF Indios , relegated from the Primera División , and Altamira FC , who played in the third-rate Segunda División last year . Last year's climber, Necaxa , is no longer there .
