The Landgraviate of Hesse (brown) and the Counties of Ziegenhain and Nidda (blue) around 1450
This list contains the offices (administrative and judicial districts) of the Grafschaft Ziegenhain , which was part of the Landgraviate of Hesse from 1450 .
history
As part of the territorialization , an office structure was also created in the county of Ziegenhain in the 14th century. After the Counts of Ziegenhain died out, the county fell to the Landgraviate of Hesse. In 1537 Landgrave Philipp began to develop Ziegenhain into a fortress. At the same time, tasks from the offices were relocated to Zieganhain. The captain von Ziegenhain exercised the highest administration and jurisdiction in the county Ziegenhain. When it was divided in 1567, most of it came to the Landgraviate of Hessen-Kassel, while the offices of Rauschenberg and Gemünden were assigned to the Landgraviate of Hessen-Marburg . In the Hessian War , the area of the county was first assigned to the Landgraviate of Hessen-Darmstadt , before it finally went back to Hessen-Kassel. Only the offices of Staufenberg and Burggemünden came to Hessen-Darmstadt.
