List of Members of the Salzburg State Parliament (10th legislative period)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list of members of the Salzburg state parliament, 10th legislative period, lists all members of the Salzburg state parliament in the 10th legislative period or 14th electoral period. The legislative period lasted from the constitution of the Landtag on May 3, 1989 to May 1, 1994. The constitution of the subsequent Landtag of the 11th legislative period took place on May 2, 1994.

In the state elections in 1989 , the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) lost its absolute majority, which it had only gained in 1984, and had to enter 16 seats. As a result, the ÖVP only provided 16 of the total of 36 members of the state parliament. The Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ), from June 15, 1991, the “Social Democratic Party of Austria” also lost a mandate and sent 12 mandataries to the new state parliament. The Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ), on the other hand, posted profits and subsequently appointed six instead of four members of the state parliament, and the Salzburg citizens' list moved into the state parliament with two seats.

After the members of the state parliament had sworn in , the state government Katschthaler was elected on May 3, 1989 , succeeding the state government Haslauer III .

Functions

The former President of the Landtag, Hans Schmidinger , was no longer a member of the Landtag, whereupon Helmut Schreiner (ÖVP) was elected as the new President of the Landtag. Bertl Emberger (ÖVP) was elected third president of the state parliament, also new to this office . After Inge Stuchlik's resignation, Walter Thaler was sworn in as the new second president of the state parliament on October 20, 1993 .
