Religious awards and medals are donated and awarded by a denomination or another organization related to faith or religion.

Catholic Church

The orders and decorations are divided into different groups:

Diocesan Awards

Each diocese has its own orders and decorations. The badges of honor are awarded by the respective diocese for particularly appreciable services in the pastoral or in a social, cultural, sociopolitical or organizational area related to the Catholic Church.

Collegiate crosses

Collegiate crosses are given to abbots and abbesses of various monasteries. There are around 100 crosses, mostly from the area of ​​the Holy Roman Empire .

Canon Crosses

Canons turnstiles, also called Kanonikerkreuze are only members of the cathedral chapter ( canons to wear).
