The Massa Haus GmbH (original and abbreviated form: massa haus ) is a manufacturer of bare houses in the market for prefabricated houses . The company, which belongs to the Deutsche Fertighaus Holding , is based in Simmern in the Hunsrück .

Company history

Karl-Heinz Kipp founded the company in 1978. It emerged from his hardware store chain. Kipp wanted to offer builders not just materials, but entire construction houses. Even before the company was founded, the Massa DIY stores had sold around 5,500 garden houses and 4,500 log houses . Since it was founded, the company has been offering expansion prefabricated houses together with expansion packages for self-construction.

In 1986 Karl-Heinz Kipp converted his entire company into a stock corporation . He listed the shares on the stock exchange in the spring and autumn of the same year . Kipp separated from his last shares in 1987 by selling it to Asko AG , which later belonged to the Metro group .

When, at the end of the 1990s, Metro gradually sold holdings that were no longer part of its core business via the collecting company Divaco , this also affected Massa Aufbauhaus GmbH : It joined DFH Deutsche Fertighaus Holding AG , which was founded in 2001 . This then bundled the market position, experience and know-how of several prefabricated house brands in a joint management.

In September 2015, the 30,000th Massa House was built (technical term: "placed").

For many years, the company has been the market leader in the segment of building houses. The main sales area is Germany, Massa houses can also be found in other European countries. Massa houses have also been sold in China and Japan. The regional focus of the houses built is in Rhineland-Palatinate .

In 2015, the company built a total of 1,139 houses. Around 100 floor plan variants are currently available.

In November 2016, the German Sustainable Building Council issued the company with the “DGNB Silver Sustainability Certificate”.

Massa Haus is represented with model houses at the following locations : Alzey , Arnsberg , Aschaffenburg , Bad Vilbel , Bannewitz , Borken , Chemnitz , Cottbus , Cremlingen , Delmenhorst , Ellwangen , Endingen am Kaiserstuhl , Erfurt , Ergolding , Fuldabrück , Groß Machnow , Hahnbach , Hockenheim , Illingen , Ingolstadt , Kaiserslautern , Laatzen , Leipzig-Heiterblick , Lollar , Mannheim , Mülheim-Kärlich , Nunkirchen , Offenburg , Oranienburg , Osnabrück , Paderborn , Reinfeld , Schwandorf , Siegburg , Sievershagen , Simmern, Titz , Tönisvorst and Ulm . There are also sales offices in Hamburg-Harburg , Kiel , Magdeburg and Norderstedt .

From 2005 to 2007 Massa Haus cooperated with RTL II and offered a special type of house. The broadcaster ProSieben accompanied a family for ten months while they were renovating their house, and in 2007 it featured a report in the TV magazine Galileo .

Former soccer manager Reiner Calmund appears as a testimonial for the company and has built a Massa house himself.

In surveys by GfK , Massa Haus achieved the highest levels of awareness among prefabricated house manufacturers in 2010 and 2017.
