NGC 4239 is an elliptical dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type E5 in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 40 million light years from the Milky Way and about 15,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Carl Frederick Pechüle in April 1884 .
