Honored three times as Best Supporting Actress: American Meryl Streep

Winner of the National Society of Film Critics in the category Best Supporting Actress (Best Supporting Actress) . The awards are presented every year at the beginning of January for the best film productions and filmmakers of the past calendar year. In 1975 and 1977 there were two awards ceremonies in January and December, after which the National Society of Film Critics Award in 1976 and 1978 was not awarded.

The most successful in this category was the American actress Meryl Streep , who won the award three times between 1979 and 2007. The film critics association has succeeded in presenting the Oscar winner eleven times , the last time being in 2019, when the American Regina King ( If Beale Street Could Talk ) entered the list of winners. In 2009, Hanna Schygulla ( On the Other Side ) was the first actress from German-speaking countries to be honored with the American film prize.

At the last award ceremony in 2019, Regina King (If Beale Street Could Talk) won by 10 points over Elizabeth Debicki ( Widows , 37 points) and Emma Stone ( The Favorite - Intrigue and Madness , 24 points).
