The 1984/85 season was the 47th regular staging of the National League A , the highest Swiss league in ice hockey . For the 25th time in its club history, HC Davos became Swiss champions, while EHC Chur and SC Langnau were relegated to the NLB.
mode
In a common main round, each of the eight teams played four games against each group opponent, making the total number of games per team 28. The six best-placed teams qualified for the final round, in which the champions were played, with half of the points taken from the main round. The last two placed had to compete in the relegation with the six best NLB teams to stay in the league. Each team received two points for a win and one point for a tie. If you lost, you didn't get any points.
