Large parts of today's Obergrochlitz belonged to Caselwitzer Flur at that time, this place was called "Neucaselwitz". The two communities merged on January 1, 1922 to form the municipality of Caselwitz-Grochlitz . Today, apart from the Caselwitz location, the entire district is part of the closed development of Obergrochlitz.
