The fight between the Indian Vikas and the American Spence had an aftermath. The fight ended first with a victory (11-9) for the Indian. The US team protested, whereupon the fight video was viewed by a jury from the world association AIBA . The referees identified nine fouls (stops) by the Indian in the third round alone, of which only one was punished by the referee with a warning. In the second round, the Indian spat out his face mask deliberately (2:38 minutes), but was not warned by the referee. The jury concluded that the referee should have given the Indian at least two more warnings. The US boxer was awarded four points, the fight was rated 11-13 in favor of Spence.
