Portlock Island , also known as Kulbi Island , is a small, uninhabited island on the Torres Strait in the Pacific Ocean northeast of Moa Island . With Tobin Island, which is just under 1.5 kilometers northwest, it belongs to the group of Kulbi Islands .

The island name goes back to the British naval officer Nathaniel Portlock (1747-1817).

The flat island is surrounded by a dense fringing reef. Politically, it belongs to the Australian state of Queensland .
