Bristow Island is an uninhabited island near the south coast of Papua New Guinea at the mouth of the Fly River . It is one of the northernmost Torres Strait Islands .
The island is about 1.5 km south of Daru Island , on which Daru , the provincial capital of the Western Province , is located. The residents of Daru call Bristow Island Bobo .
Bristow Island is flat and densely overgrown with mangroves .
