Western province map

Daru is the capital of the Western Province of Papua New Guinea . It is in the South Fly District . Their territory is located entirely on the island of the same name, Daru Island, south of the mouth of the Fly River on the west side of the Gulf of Papua , north of the Torres Strait and the Australian Cape York Peninsula.

Daru has a population of around 13,000 and is the largest coastal settlement in western Papua New Guinea.
