Mabuiag is an island of Bellevue Islands , one to Australia associated islands in the archipelago of the Torres Strait Islands . Administratively, it is one of the Western Islands , an island region in the Torres Shire administrative district of Queensland .

The approximately 7.4 km² island is 100 kilometers from Cape York in northern Australia and around 80 kilometers southwest of the south coast of Papua New Guinea . The highest point on the island is 152 meters above sea level. Immediately in front of the north coast are the uninhabited islands of Aipus and Widul , off the west coast are Mipe and Pulu and near the east coast are Subur , Talab and Warakuikul Talab .

The only place Mabuiag is on the east coast. The rest of the island is uninhabited. It is the only inhabited island in the Bellevue Islands. Mabuiag had 210 residents at the 2001 census and 251 residents at the 2006 census.
