Goods Island , also known as Palilug , is a small island in the Torres Strait Archipelago . It is located in the northwest of the Thursday Islands , 980 meters west of Hammond Island , and is less than three miles from Thursday Island , the main island in the Torres Strait.
Administratively, Goods Island is part of the Inner Islands , the southernmost island region in the Torres Shire administrative district of the Australian state of Queensland .
The flat island is about 3.2 kilometers long and on average less than a kilometer wide. Goods Island is uninhabited.
