Sayaun Thunga Phulka ( Nepali : सयौं थूंगा फूलका, Sayaű thűgā phūlkā; "Hundreds of Flowers") is the national anthem of Nepal . It was composed by Amber Gurung , the lyrics are from the poet Byakul Maila . On August 3, 2007, it was declared the national anthem by the House of Representatives .

सयौं थूंगा फूलका हामी, एउटै
माला नेपाली सार्वभौम भइ फैलिएका, मेची-महाकाली।
प्रकृतिका कोटी-कोटी सम्पदाको आंचल
वीरहरूका रगतले, स्वतन्त्र र अटल।
ज्ञानभूमि, शान्तिभूमि तराई, पहाड,
हिमाल अखण्ड यो प्यारो हाम्रो मातृभूमि नेपाल।
बहुल जाति, भाषा, धर्म, संस्कृति छन् विशाल
अग्रगामी राष्ट्र हाम्रो, जय जय नेपाल।

Sārvabhaum bhai phailiekā, meci-Mahakali
Prakṛtikā Koti Koti sampadāko ACAL,
ragatle Vīrharūkā, svatantra ra Atal
Jñānabhūmi, śāntibhūmi Tarai Pahad, Himal
Akhanda yo pyāro Hamro mātṛbhūmi Nepal
Bahul jāti, bhâsâ, dharma, sãskṛti chan biśāl
Agragāmī rāṣṭra hāmro, jaya jaya Nepāl
German translation
We are hundreds of flowers, a garland - Nepali
sovereign, it extends from Mechi to Mahakali .
It accumulates all natural resources, by
the blood of heroes it is independent and unshakable.
Land of knowledge, land of peace, Terai , hills, mountains
This beloved motherland, Nepal , is indivisible.
The various races, languages, religions and cultures are so vast.
Our progressive nation, long live long live Nepal.
Former national anthem
The music was composed in 1899 by Bakhat Bahadur Budhapirthi , the text written in 1924 by Chakra Pani Chalise . Rashtriya Gan was introduced as the national anthem in 1962. On May 19, 2006 the Nepalese parliament decided to change the anthem as it was a song of praise to the monarch. The anthem was temporarily given a modified text.
