Rivarennes is a French commune with 1,004 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Indre-et-Loire in the region of Center-Val de Loire . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Tours and the Canton of Chinon (until 2015: Canton Azay-le-Rideau ). The inhabitants are called Rivarennais .

Rivarennes lies in the Touraine on the Indre , which forms the northern municipal boundary. Rivarennes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bréhémont in the north, Azay-le-Rideau in the east, Panzoult in the south and south-east, Cravant-les-Côteaux in the south, Saint-Benoît-la-Forêt in the west and southwest and Rigny-Ussé in the west.
