Rybnaja Sloboda ( Russian Ры́бная ​​Слобода́ ; Tatar Балык Бистәсе , Balık Bistäse ) is an urban-type settlement in the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia with 7684 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

geography

The place is about 75 km as the crow flies southeast of the republic capital Kazan . It is located on the right bank of the Kama in the storage area of ​​the Kuibyshev reservoir of the Volga, which is almost ten kilometers wide .

Rybnaja Sloboda is the administrative center of the Rajons Rybno-Slobodsky and seat and only town of the municipality (gorodskoje posselenije) Rybnaja Sloboda.

history

The place goes back to a military fortification built in the 16th century. In a row, mainly fishermen settled around these, to which the place name refers (Russian "fish Sloboda ", Tatar roughly synonymous).

On February 14, 1927, the place became the administrative seat of a newly created Rajons named after him. In 2004 Rybnaya Sloboda received urban-type settlement status.

From Rybnaja Sloboda there is a connection via the regional road 16K-1354 to the federal highway R239 Kazan - Chistopol  - Almetyevsk  - Bugulma  - Orenburg, which passes about 20 km to the west and crosses the Kama . The 16K-1362 leads north to the federal trunk road M7 Volga Moscow  - Kazan - Ufa / Perm , which is also 20 km away . The 16K-1355 runs in an easterly direction and ends at the M7 after around 40 km.

The nearest train station is in the republic capital Kazan.
