Alexejewskoje ( Russian Алексе́евское ) is an urban-type settlement in the Republic of Tatarstan ( Russia ) with 11,224 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

geography

The settlement is located a good 80 km as the crow flies southeast of the republic capital Kazan and 35 km west of the city of Chistopol on the left bank of the Kama . This is still there in the storage area of ​​the Kuibyshev reservoir of the Volga and is about 10 km wide.

Alexejewskoje is the administrative center of Alexejewski Rajon . The settlement forms a municipality of the same name (gorodskoje posselenije) , to which the two villages (derewnja) Sabakaika (a good 9 km southwest) and Sotejewka (8 km southwest) belong.

Alexeyevskoye village was founded in 1710.

In 1930 it became the administrative seat of a Rajon and in 1965 it received urban-type settlement status.

Economy and Infrastructure

Alexejewskoje is the center of an agricultural area. There is a ceramic tile factory and an art weaving mill founded in 1927.

The R239 Kazan - Chistopol - Almetyevsk  - Bugulma  - Orenburg highway runs through the village . To the west of the settlement, the road crosses the Kama on an eleven-kilometer-long combination of dam and bridges that was completed in the 2000s and replaced the earlier ferry connection . In front of the dam, the regional road R240 branches off, which leads to the R178 east of Dimitrovgrad in the neighboring Ulyanovsk Oblast - together the shortest connection between the megacities of Kazan and Samara .
