German Chess League 1974/75

The 1974/75 season was the first season of the newly founded four-track chess Bundesliga .

mode

Eight teams each played a simple round-robin tournament in the North, West, Southwest and South seasons . The four season winners qualified for the final round, which was held centrally over a long weekend, the seventh and eighth of each season were relegated. The North relay comprised the regional associations of Berlin, Hamburg, Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein and Weser-Ems, the West relay included the Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia regional associations, the Southwest relay consisted of the Baden, Middle Rhine, Palatinate and Saarland regional associations during the relay South associations of the state associations Bavaria and Württemberg-Hohenzollern belonged. The number of team points decided on the placement, in the event of a tie, play-off fights were played for group victory and relegation, otherwise the number of board points decided. In the final round there were generally no playoffs played, but in the event of a tie based on team points, the number of board points decided.

Preliminary round

North

For the North Staffel, three Hamburg clubs, the Hamburger SK , the Hamburger SG and the SC Concordia from 1907 , the Delmenhorster Schachklub and the SK Bremen-Nord, two clubs of the Weser-Ems Association and Lasker Steglitz , the Hannoverschen SK and the Kiel SG ever an association of associations Berlin, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein qualified.

west

For the West Season, five clubs from North Rhine-Westphalia, with Königsspringer Frankfurt , SV 1920 Hofheim and VSG , had the Solingen SG 1868 , the Düsseldorf SG Rochade , the SK Münster 32 , the PSV / BSV Wuppertal and the Essen SG 1904 Offenbach qualified three Hessian clubs. The Solingen SG defeated the two competitors from Frankfurt and Düsseldorf and was thus able to qualify for the final round, the PSV / BSV Wuppertal and the Essen SG 1904 had to relegate.

southwest

With SG Porz , the Aachener Schachverein and the SC Kettig three clubs of the Verband Mittelrhein, with the SK Heidelberg , the Karlsruhe chess friends and the SK Mannheim-Lindenhof three clubs from Baden, and with the SK Frankenthal and the SG Saarbrücken one club each from the Palatinate and Saarland qualified. Both the decision on qualifying for the finals and relegation was only made in the playoffs. The SG Porz secured the group victory with a 4.5: 3.5 against the Heidelberger SK, while the playoff between the SK Frankenthal and the Karlsruher SF 4: 4 ended and the Berlin rating decided in favor of the Frankenthaler, so that next to the SK Mannheim-Lindenhof the Karlsruhe chess friends had to relegate.

For the season south, five clubs from Bavaria, with the SF Marktheidenfeld , the SC Anderssen Bavaria Munich , Grundig Nürnberg , the SC 1868 Bamberg and the Munich SC 1836 , had three Württemberg clubs with the Stuttgart Chess Friends 1879 , the SC Bad Cannstatt and the VfL Sindelfingen Clubs qualified. The SF Marktheidenfeld were able to qualify for the final round with a playoff victory against Anderssen Bavaria Munich, SC Bad Cannstatt and VfL Sindelfingen had to relegate.

Finals

The final round took place in Delmenhorst from December 12th to 14th. The Solingen SG 1868 won all three competitions, ahead of SG Porz, SF Marktheidenfeld and Delmenhorster SK.
