Zelenodolsk ( Ukrainian Зеленодольськ ; Russian Зеленодольск ) is a Ukrainian city ​​in the south of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast with 13,683 inhabitants (2016).

The place, which was founded in 1961 together with the neighboring thermal power plant Kryworiskoji DRES-2 (Ukrainian: Криворізької ДРЕС-2 ) received city status in 1993.

The city has a park and beach on the 1576 hectare Zelenodolsk Reservoir , which with its capacity of 74.4 million. m³ of water is used to cool the power station on the bank.

geography

The city is located 13 km south of Apostolowe and about 55 km southeast of Krywyj Rih directly on the border with Kherson Oblast in the south of the Apostolowe Rajon . The town of Zelenodolsk also includes the village of Mala Kostromka ( Мала Костромка ) , located north of the city . In the east, the village of Velyka Kostromka borders on Zelenodolsk.
