The Series B 2019/20 was the 88th time the second highest Italian league for football men. It was opened on August 23, 2019 with the game of the promoted AC Pisa against Benevento Calcio and ended with the last game of the play-offs on August 20, 2020.

For the first time since the 2002/03 season , 20 teams took part in the game.

    Play-offs

    The third and fourth placed were set for the semi-finals of the play-offs and meet there against the winners of the preliminary round. These were determined between the fifth and eighth and the sixth and seventh. In the preliminary round, individual games were played in which the team better placed in the final table had home rights and advanced to the next round if the final result was undecided. In the semi-finals and the final, there and back games are played, in which the better placed team has home rights in the second leg. In the event of a tie in both games, the team that is better positioned in the season will also advance.
