Simona Šaturová

Simona Houda Šaturová (* in Bratislava ) is a Slovak soprano .

Life

Šaturová was born in Bratislava, received violin lessons at the age of 5 and, after graduating from high school, studied singing at the Conservatory with Miloslava Fidlerová-Sopirová . She then took private lessons in Prague with the teacher Soňa Kresáková , in Vienna she took part in master classes with Ileana Cotrubaș and in Amsterdam with the singer and teacher Margreet Honig , with whom she is currently working. Simona Šaturová lives in Prague .

2006

In the Mozart year 2006, the focus for the soprano was on the collaboration with Helmuth Rilling , which reached its climax during the Salzburg Festival . Both artists then performed Mozart’s Great Mass in C minor on a tour in Israel, Germany, Venezuela, Canada and the USA. In the same year the singer performed at the reopening of the famous Salle Pleyel in Paris, where she under the baton of Christoph Eschenbach in the Symphony no. 2 by Gustav Mahler sang. During the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival , she appeared in the Passions of St. Luke (Pasja według św. Łukasza) by Krzysztof Penderecki , who was also on the conductor's desk . She made her debut at the Frankfurt Opera under the conductor of Constantinos Carydis .

2007

That year she performed at Verizon Hall in Philadelphia and at Carnegie Hall in New York , where she sang in Symphony No. 2 by Gustaf Mahler under the baton of Christoph Eschenbach. A recording of the concert was released on CD published by the Ondine label . She also performed at the Oregon Bach Festival, on a tour of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival , as well as in Toronto , Detroit , Warsaw , Berlin and Copenhagen .

2008

In 2008 she completed a tour of Germany with the baritone player Thomas Quasthoff . The artist's program included the oratorio Elias (Op. 70) by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy under the direction of the conductor H. Rilling. As a permanent guest at the Frankfurt Opera , she created the role of Madame Cortese in the trip to Rems and the Oscar in Un ballo in maschera . For the National Theater in Prague she studied the role of Sandrina ( La finta giardiniera , WA Mozart) in a production by Ursel and Ernst Herrmanns .

2009

In 2009 she performed at the New Year's Concert with the London Philharmonic Orchestra in Hayden's oratorio The Creation , conducted by Ádám Fischer . As a guest she appeared on January 13th in Prague in the recital by Bryn Terfel . On the occasion of the 85th birthday of Pope Benedict XVI. she sang The Great Mass in C minor by WA Mozart. The concert in the Sistine Chapel was broadcast worldwide. In the summer she completed a tour with Philippe Herrewegh and his Orchester des Champs-Élysées in Siena, Saintes, Edinburgh, Eberbach and Warsaw; she sang the oratorio Elias by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. As a guest she appeared in Osaka , Japan with the cantata Carmina Burana by Carl Orff under the direction of Eiji Ōue . She also worked with the Munich Radio Orchestra ( Tõnu Kaljuste ), the NDR Radiophilharmonie ( Andrew Manze ), the Basel Chamber Orchestra ( Rolf Beck ) and the Stuttgart State Orchestra ( Manfred Honeck ).

2010

In 2010 she began a long-term collaboration with the Brussels Opera House La Monnaie in the role of Ilia ( Idomeneo ). In the Frankfurt Opera she created the title role in the opera Lucia di Lammermoor . She made her debut with the Munich Philharmonic ( Christopher Hogwood ), the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra ( Vasily Petrenko ) and the NDR Symphony Orchestra ( Lothar Zagrosek ).

2011

In 2011 she appeared in the role of Sandrina in the performance of La finta giardiniera by WA Mozart in co-production of the Royal Opera La Monnaie in Brussels , and at the National Theater in Prague she appeared in the role of Konstanze in the newly rehearsed opera Die Entführung the seraglio . Together with the Munich Philharmonic, she performed Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 2 under the direction of Iván Fischer . This was followed by a tour in Turkey and Spain as part of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival (SHMF) under the direction of Christoph Eschenbach and Rolf Beck . She participated in the performance of the Symphony of Thousands in the O2 arenas in Prague, Hamburg and Hanover. At the funeral of Vaclav Havel, she sang, accompanied by the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Jiri Belohlavek , the Requiem by Antonín Dvořák .

2012

In 2012 she took part in the reopening of the speech in the Slovak Philharmonic ( Emmanuel Villaume ), she made her debut as Adina in the Slovak National Theater and gave concerts in Oslo, Bamberg and Lyon. In Dallas she played the role of Marzelline in the concert performance of the opera Fidelio by L. van Beethoven under the direction of Jaap van Zweden . She made her debut at the Aalto Music Theater in the role of Konstanze in the Royal Opera La Monnaie in Brussels and Violetta in the production of director Andrey Breth under the direction of Adám Fischer .

2013

In 2013 she studied the role of Aristea ( L'Olimpiade by Josef Mysliveček ) for the National Theater in Prague with Collegium 1704 and Václav Luks , and she also performed in this role in Caen and Luxembourg. In the Brussels Opera she played the role of Servilia (Titus, WA Mozart). Together with Mariusz Kwiecień she performed at gala concerts in Prague and Bratislava. She performed at concerts in Pittsburgh ( Manfred Honeck ), Berlin (I. Fischer), Cologne and Essen (L. Hussain).

2014

In 2014 she appeared as a guest at the Aalto-Musiktheater Essen in the role of Violetta, Adina, and made her debut in the role of Donna Anna and in the role of Elektra in Idomeneo by WA Mozart, both under the direction of Tomáš Netopil . In Brussels she appeared in the role of Gilda ( Giuseppe Verdi , Rigoleto ) in a production by Robert Carsen and under the direction of Carl Rizzi . She appeared as a guest at the Theater Wien Aristea (L'olimpiade). During the Prague Spring she sang solo recital with the Collegium 1704 and Václav Luks . For the publishing house Nibiru she shot a solo album Decade from the work of WA Mozart and J. Mysliveček under the direction of Zdeněk Klauda .

2015

The year 2015 began with New Year's concerts with the Munich Philharmonic under the direction of Manfred Honeck. In Baltimore she performed the Great Mass in C minor by WA Mozart under the direction of Masaaki Suzuki , and in Pittsburgh the 9th Symphony by L. van Beethoven under the direction of Manfred Honeck. In Prague she performed with the Czech Philharmonic under the direction of Jiři Bělohlávek in G. Mahler's 2nd Symphony; this performance is recorded on CD and DVD. In the National Theater in Prague she appeared in the role of Violetta and Donna Anna. This was followed by appearances at the Styriarte festivals in Austria (A. Dvořák), in San Sebastian (WA Mozart), Viva Musica! (Mozart, Mysliveček) and in concerts with the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich with Donald Runnicales ( Gioachino Rossini ), in Budapest with the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Tomáš Netopil (A. Dvořák), and with the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig under the direction by Herbert Blomstedt - with him she performed L. van Beethoven's 9th Symphony, which was recorded on CD and DVD.

2016

In 2016 she returned to the Munich Philharmonic and performed with them at the Royal Opera in Brussels with the works of Karol Szymanowski. She studied the role of Ismene in Mitridate, re di Ponto by WA Mozart. She took part in the Beethoven Easter Festival in Warsaw (L. van Beethoven, G. Rossini), and in the Kissinger Sommer (G. Rossini) and Tanglewood Music Festival ; here she made her debut with the Boston Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Charles Dutoit (G. Rossini). She then performed in concerts in Vienna, Leipzig, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Valencia and Alicante as well as in concerts in Tokyo with the NHK Orchestra under the direction of Herbert Blomstedt (L. van Beethoven).

2017

In 2017 she made her debut at the Dresden Semperoper in the role of Konstanze in the opera Entführung aus dem Serail . She studied the role of Lucio Cinna in Lucio Silla by WA Mozart for the Brussels Royal Opera . As Donna Anna she took part in the concert performance of the opera Don Giovanni with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra under Jakub Hrůša in Bamberg. Hanover and in the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. In Bratislava she recorded the song cycle Ad astra by Eugen Suchoň together with the Symphonic Orchestra of the Slovak Radio and in Prague the complete Moravian Duets by Antonín Dvořák. At the Wiener Konzerthaus and at the Dvořák's Pra g festival , she performed Te Deum Dvořák with the Wiener Symphoniker and Tomáš Netopil. In Berlin she sang under the direction of Jakub Hrůša in the Stabat Mater by Dvorak and in Copenhagen with Fabio Luisim The Book with Seven Seals by Franz Schmidt . She ended the year with the Munich Philharmonic under the direction of Krzystof Urbański (L. van Beethoven).

2018

In 2018 she worked again with Jakub Hrůša and with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra in the performance of Gustav Mahler's 2nd Symphony. In the renewed premiere at the Aalto Music Theater in Essen, she created the role of Konstanze under the direction of Tomáš Netopil. In Pittsburgh she made her debut under the direction of Manfred Honeck in Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem. At the Salzburg Festival she performed the soprano part in the oratorio Christ on the Mount of Olives by Ludwig van Beethoven with the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra under the direction of Riccard Minasi .
