Tekirdağ is a province of Turkey . Their capital is the eponymous Tekirdağ .

The province has 1,092,927 inhabitants (as of 2019) on an area of ​​6,345 km². It borders the provinces of Istanbul , Edirne , Çanakkale and Kırklareli .

Counties

Tekirdağ has been a big city (Büyükşehir belediyesi) since 2012. After an administrative reform in 2014, all districts are directly subordinate to the Lord Mayor of Tekirdağ. The former mayors (Belediye Başkan ) of the municipalities ( Belediye ) were downgraded to the rank of Muhtar . Therefore the eleven districts are also urban districts:
