The Cheez-It 355 at The Glen is a race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup and takes place at Watkins Glen International Racetrack in Watkins Glen , New York . Along with the Toyota / Save Mart 350 , it is one of only two races on conventional street circuits.
The race distance has been changed several times over the years. In the first race of the 1957 season, it was a total of 101.2 miles over 44 laps with a lap length of 2.3 miles. In the 1964 and 1965 seasons, the race length was increased to 66 laps and a distance of 151.8 miles. After NASCAR returned to Watkins Glen in the 1986 season, 90 laps were driven on the 2.428-mile course until 1991, so that the race distance was 218.52 miles. With the inclusion of the chicane from 1992, one lap was extended to 2.454 miles, so that the race distance has been 220.86 miles since then.
