The Singles is a 9-CD box set by American pop singer Lady Gaga , which was released on December 8, 2010 in Japan only . The box contains nine separate CD singles with tracks from the albums The Fame and The Fame Monster , which were previously released as single , supplemented by the unreleased track Christmas Tree . The Singles also receives remixes from artists such as Trevor Simpson and Space Cowboy . The edition was limited to 5000 copies.

In a statement on November 17, 2010, Universal Music Japan announced that there would be a new album by Gaga. This should be released on December 8, 2010 in Japan and contain all of their songs released as a single. The box set was only released in Japan and was only available as imported goods outside of the Japanese market.

Cover

The cover was designed during a photo shoot with Hedi Slimane , who also did the cover for Telephone . It shows Lady Gaga with a bare back. She has one finger in her mouth and is wearing a black leather cap. On the left side it says “Lady Gaga - The Singles” vertically. On the back is the title list in white and black letters on a gray background.

Chart placements

The Singles reached number 166 on the Japanese Oricon charts for one week . After The Fame , The Fame Monster and The Remix, it is the fourth release by the pop singer, reaching the top 200 of the Japanese album charts.
