The Toro Rosso STR7 is the seventh Formula 1 - racing cars the Toro Rosso . It was used in the 2012 Formula 1 season , the engine supplier is Ferrari . It was presented to the public on February 6, 2012 at the Circuito de Jerez .

Technology and development

The Toro Rosso STR7 is the successor to the Toro Rosso STR6 . A noticeable feature of the car are the "humps" in the area of ​​the front suspension. Other changes to the previous year's model have been made to the rear end. The Toro Rosso STR7 was developed under the direction of technical director Giorgio Ascanelli .

The engine, a 2.4 liter V8 engine with the designation Type 056, comes from Ferrari . As with all other teams, the tires are provided by Pirelli .

Painting and sponsorship

The Toro Rosso STR7 is painted in a dark blue basic color. Due to the sponsor logos of Cepsa and Red Bull , the STR7 has red accents. Cepsa advertises on the rear wing, Red Bull on the engine cover and side pods. Other major sponsors are NOVA Chemicals and Falcon.

The racing team changed its driver duo. Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Éric Vergne , both of whom have been sponsored by Toro Rosso owner Red Bull for a long time, received the cockpits.
