The Toro Rosso STR8 is the eighth Formula 1 - racing cars the Toro Rosso . It will be used in the 2013 Formula 1 season , the engine supplier is Ferrari . On February 4, 2013, it was presented to the public at the Circuito de Jerez .

Technology and development

The STR8 is the successor to the STR7 . The car hides the "nose hump" through the newly introduced vanity panel . The car developed by James Key is powered by a Ferrari V8 engine with 2.4 liter displacement, which develops an output of around 550 kW (≈750 hp). The tires are provided by the standard supplier Pirelli .

Like all Formula 1 vehicles of the 2013 season, the STR8 is equipped with KERS and DRS .

The car is a further development of the previous year's model. The rear area has been made much slimmer, and the side pods have now also been given a dynamic profile. The way the suspension works has been completely changed so that the setup of the STR8 can be better adjusted.

Painting and sponsorship

The Toro Rosso STR8 is painted in a dark blue basic color. Due to the sponsor logos of Cepsa and Red Bull , the car has red accents. Cepsa advertises on the rear wing, Red Bull on the engine cover and side pods. Other major sponsors are NOVA Chemicals and Falcon.
