The Red Bull RB9 is the Formula 1 - racing cars from Infiniti Red Bull Racing for the Formula 1 2013 season . It is the team's ninth Formula 1 car. The car was unveiled in Milton Keynes on February 3, 2013 . The presentation was broadcast live on the Internet platform YouTube .
Technology and development
The RB9 is the successor and a further development of the RB8 . Externally, the vehicle only differs from its predecessor in a few details. However, many parts have been revised, including increased stiffness of the front wing. The “nasal hump” is only minimally hidden by the newly introduced vanity panel. The car developed by Adrian Newey is powered by a V8 engine called "Renault RS27 - 2013" with a displacement of 2.4 liters, which develops an output of around 550 kW (≈750 hp). The braking system comes from Brembo , the wheels are provided by OZ Racing and the tires come from the standard supplier Pirelli .
Like all Formula 1 vehicles of the 2013 season, the RB9 is equipped with the Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) and the Drag Reduction System (DRS).
Painting and sponsorship
The basic colors of the Red Bull RB9 are dark blue and purple. On the vehicle, in addition to sponsor stickers from Infiniti, large stickers from Red Bull are placed on the side pods, the Red Bull logo on the hood and nose, and the Red Bull lettering on the front and rear wings. Other sponsors on the vehicle are Rauch , Renault and Total .
driver
Red Bull competes in 2013 with the driver duo Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber . This year Vettel is continuing the tradition of giving the chassis he uses as a girl's name. The RB9 was named "Hungry Heidi" as a reminiscence of Heidi Klum .
