The Red Bull RB10 was the tenth Formula 1 - racing cars of Red Bull Racing . It was presented to the public on January 30, 2014 at the Circuito de Jerez and used in the 2014 Formula 1 season .
Technology and development
The RB10 was the successor model to the RB9 , although the vehicle was visually and technically significantly different from the previous model due to rule changes for the 2014 Formula 1 season .
The car was powered by the newly developed Renault Energy F1 2014 , a 1.6-liter V6 engine with a turbocharger . The ERS also came from engine manufacturer Renault , while the eight-speed transmission was developed by Red Bull itself.
It is noticeable that the RB10 did not have a bracket for the camera for TV broadcasting required by the regulations on the vehicle nose. Red Bull had positioned the camera underneath the vanity screen and the pictures were taken through a small hole in the screen.
After the FOM complained that the images from the onboard cameras did not meet the standard, Red Bull had to attach the camera to the nose in an external bracket from the Monaco Grand Prix . The FOM referred to a drawing in the appendix to paragraph 20 of the regulations, according to which a camera should be mounted outside.
Painting and sponsorship
The basic colors of the Red Bull RB10 were dark blue and purple. On the vehicle, in addition to sponsor stickers from Infiniti, large-scale stickers from Red Bull were placed on the side pods, the Red Bull logo on the bonnet and nose, and the Red Bull lettering on the front and rear wings. Other sponsors on the vehicle were Rauch fruit juices , Renault and Total .
driver
Red Bull competed in 2014 with the driver duo Daniel Ricciardo and Sebastian Vettel . Mark Webber switched to Porsche in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) . Like Vettel in 2009, Ricciardo, a driver from the sister team Toro Rosso, switched to Red Bull.
