The Toro Rosso STR5 is a Formula 1 racing car used by Scuderia Toro Rosso in the 2010 season .

Like last year's model, the car was driven by Sébastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari .

The vehicle was the first Formula 1 car that the team had developed in-house after being taken over by Red Bull Racing at the end of 2005. The cars from 2006 to 2009 used the same chassis as the parent team Red Bull Racing. The responsible designers of the STR5 were Giorgio Ascanelli and Ben Butler . A 2.4 liter eight-cylinder engine ( type 056 ) supplied by Scuderia Ferrari served as the drive .

The STR5 was presented on February 1, 2010 in Valencia, where the first test drives also took place.
